Hi, I'm Hannah, the bipolar, bisexual host of the biweekly podcast: Of Witches and Women.
I have a degree in media arts, and experience as a marketer, filmmaker, and office manager. Right now I'm working while my husband finishes his advanced degree, then I think I'll go back to school to become a psychologist. You see, I went into media arts to create stories. Psychology, understanding what makes people tick, comes from the same story-telling desire.
This podcast also comes from my desire to tell stories and understand people. Of Witches and Women is a "Herstory" podcast, meaning, I tell stories by women and for women. While mythology and history has grazed over the important women who have shaped history and culture, their stories matter. The stories of our grandmothers, fairy godmothers and witches shape who we are, and who we are perceived to be.
So, when I read the tale of the monstrous gorgon Medusa, I tell her story, not her murderer's story. When I study a witch who saved hundreds of lives before burning at the stake, I look for the missing puzzle pieces. What did she feel, want, think, need, do? I'm not always sure of the answers, but I am sure of what I can do, I can tell her stories, and enrich our history.
